Calciomercato (h/t Daily Mail) understands that Manchester United are planning a summer swoop for Lazio forward Ciro Immobile.
Immobile, 30, rose through the ranks of Salernitana’s youth system and joined Juventus’ youth side in the summer of 2007. Though he was successful with the Turin-based club’s youth sides, he failed to make it through to the senior set-up. He was sent on several loan spells and signed for Genoa in 2012.
The Italian made himself known in the Serie A with Torino in the 2013/14 season, where he record 22 goals in 33 league games. He then move to Borussia Dortmund and later to Sevilla before joining Lazio in the summer of 2016. Since then, he has been in top form and his impressive performances have already generated attention from Liverpool and Napoli,

Man United have been strong both in the attack and in the defence prior to the suspension of the season. The arrival of Bruno Fernandes has seen the Red Devils lift themselves in terms of attack, and the defence has been strong, conceding just 2 goals in the last 11 games. However, with the new season approaching soon, the manager has to bring in reinforcements.
Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood and Odion Ighalo are the three centre-forwards available at the manager’s disposal. Martial has seen a rise in his form of late and Greenwood has done a decent job despite being just 18. Ighalo has just extended his contract for one year with the club, but Ciro may be the leader United need upfront.
