United intended to face Stoke City at Carrington on Tuesday, but the fixture was called-off after Potters boss Michael O’Neill tested positive for Coronavirus on Monday.

The club faces Tottenham away from home on Friday in their first competitive fixture since defeating LASK in the Europa League on March 12.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer selected two mixed sides to take on the Championship oponent in two matches, which was separated by two hours as United prepare to return to Premier League action in 3months.

ZSB understand Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes was part of the first group alongside Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Daniel James. They were joined by Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe and Teden Mengi.

The second group includes, David de Gea, Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw were all present along with Scott McTominay, Fred and Odion Ighalo.

United, who are looking to strengthen their squad in other to challenge for trophies next term, confirmed they suffered a 2-1 defeat in the first friendly clash, with Bruno Fernandes scoring their only goal from the penalty spot. However, they won the second 3-1 thanks to a brace from Andreas Pereira and a goal from Tahith Chong.

Furthermore, the club added that some players took part in both games in order to increase their match sharpness. Balls were also disinfected during the game and water breaks were taken throughout.

United will look to extend their 11-match unbeaten run in all competitions against Jose Mourinho’s Spurs side next week who will be without Dele Alli due to suspension.
