Amidst Spurs, Chelsea links Barcelona offer massive Coutinho incentive.

Barcelona are reportedly willing to cover a portion of Philippe Coutinho’s wages in order to facilitate his departure from the club this summer.

Now 28 years old, Coutinho was sold by Liverpool to Barcelona in the January 2018 transfer window for an initial €105m, with the Reds using the cash to finance the purchases of Virgil van Dijk and Alisson.

Coutinho, who is currently on loan at Bayern Munich, earns more than £200,000-a-week, which Barcelona understand will be difficult for most clubs to afford in the current economic circumstances.

As reported by The Telegraph , Barcelona are prepared to sanction Coutinho’s departure whether as part of a swap deal or a transfer.
Also according to The Sun sport reporter, Chelsea could get Coutinho for £55m plus a defender.

Tottenham is also interested in the former Liverpool star, who alse favour a move back to the EPL. It remains to be seen where he does end up but in the former Liverpool man, Mourinho could discover Spurs’ Christian Eriksen replacement.

The Dane departed for Inter in January after scoring 69 times and contributing 89 assists for Tottenham so there is a clear creative void left in the team.

Coutinho is a player in a similar mould, capable of finding the back of the net from range and setting up goals for his teammates on a regular basis.
His time in Bayern may not have been completely successful, starting just 15 Bundesliga matches, but he still has eight strikes (nine in all comps) and six assists in the league. Even when he’s not at his best, he’s still a thrilling player to watch – he could well be game-changing for Mourinho’s side.

After all, he rates him extremely highly. Before signing for Barcelona, the Portuguese boss said he’d value the midfield man at £101m.

Newcastle also reportedly started talks with Barca over a possible deal for the Brazilian. But any deal materializing will depend on the takeover bid at the Tyneside. Saudi crown prince, Mohammed Bin Salman, wants to takeover in a £300million deal at but an investigation into several issues surrounding the buy-out by the Football Association is stalling sale.
